Waterproofing

Waterproofing is a highly effective solution for shielding surfaces from moisture penetration and water damage. We offer a variety of waterproofing solutions for both walls and floors that will reduce your risk of water infiltration and potential structural damage. Our systems are ideal for basements, balconies, traffic areas, and other spaces where moisture is common.

System Overview

Waterproof Wall System

Waterproof wall system components.

01

Clean Concrete Wall

We begin by cleaning the concrete wall to ensure that it is free from any dirt, debris, or other contaminates. This ensures a strong bond between the wall and the waterproofing materials, promoting durability and effectiveness.

03

Monolithic Waterproofing Membrane Sealer
(Detail Coat)

Apply a 9-inch wide detail coat of the Monolithic Waterproofing Membrane Sealer centered on corners and joints. This additional layer reinforces vulnerable areas where water infiltration is more likely, ensuring extra protection at critical junctions.

05

Monolithic Waterproofing Membrane Sealer
(Full Coat - Layer Three)

Apply a third and final full coat of the Monolithic Waterproofing Membrane Sealer to further reinforce the system. This final layer creates a robust, uniform barrier that enhances the durability and longevity of the waterproofing system.

02

Liquid Membrane Cant Bead

Apply a liquid membrane cant bead at the base of the wall where it meets the foundation. This flexible layer helps to seal the joint, preventing water from penetrating the critical area where the wall and foundation meet.

04

Monolithic Waterproofing Membrane Sealer
(Full Coat - Layer 2)

After the detail coat has dried, apply a full coat of the Monolithic Waterproofing Membrane Sealer over the entire wall. This layer seamlessly integrates with the detail coat, providing comprehensive coverage and ensuring the entire surface is protected.

06

High-Flow Drainage Composite

Install a drainage composite over the waterproofing membrane to facilitate the proper drainage of water away from the wall. This layer helps prevent water from accumulating against the waterproofed surface, thus reducing hydrostatic pressure.

01

Concrete Prep & Patching

We begin by shot blasting the concrete to a CSP 3/4 surface profile, ensuring optimal conditions for maximum epoxy mechanical bonding. This meticulous surface preparation is crucial for the long-term durability of the traffic system.

03

Elastomeric Membrane

Next, a layer of elastomeric membrane is applied. This layer adds flexibility and resilience to the system, allowing it to absorb structural movement and prevent cracks from forming in the surface. Its rubber-like properties provide a durable, waterproof barrier that enhances the system’s ability to withstand heavy traffic and extreme conditions, ensuring long-lasting protection.

05

First layer of Polyaspartic (or elastomeric)

Once the flakes or granules are set, the first layer of polyaspartic coating is applied. Polyaspartic is a type of polyurea that cures quickly and provides a clear, glossy finish. It offers UV stability, chemical resistance, and high durability.

02

Moisture Vapor Barrier

Next, a layer of moisture vapor barrier then applied to the prepped concrete. This barrier is crucial as it prevents moisture from seeping through the concrete substrate and affecting the flooring system. It helps in reducing the risk of delamination and other moisture-related issues.

04

Broadcast - Flake, Rubber Granules, or Aggregate Sand

While the elastomeric membrane, a layer of decorative flakes, rubber granules, or aggregate sand is broadcasted into it. These materials not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the floor but also add texture and additional strength to the surface.

06

Top Coat of Polyaspartic (or elastomeric)

Finally, a second layer of polyaspartic is applied to seal the system. This topcoat ensures maximum protection and longevity, creating a seamless, high-gloss finish that is both attractive and easy to maintain.

SYSTEM CHARACTERISTICS

COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTION

The system provides a multi-layered defense against water infiltration, with each layer reinforcing the previous one. This ensures a robust and long-lasting waterproof barrier that can withstand varying weather conditions, preventing potential water damage to the structure.

IMPROVED DRAINAGE

The incorporation of a drainage composite in the system helps manage water flow, directing it away from the wall. This not only prevents water from accumulating but also reduces hydrostatic pressure, further protecting the structure from potential water damage.

ENHANCED DURABILITY

The use of multiple coats, particularly in critical areas like corners and joints, ensures that the waterproofing membrane is strong and durable. The detail coat adds extra protection to vulnerable spots, significantly reducing the risk of leaks over time.

FLEXIBILITY & ADAPTABILITY

The liquid membrane cant bead and detail coat provide flexibility in areas that experience movement or shifting, such as the base of the wall and corners. This adaptability allows the waterproofing system to maintain its integrity even when the structure settles or shifts.
